Currumbin Inlet To Currumbin Rock Pools Swim, Gold Coast. Australia
The Gold Coast has some of the most beautiful stretches of sand in Australia. Whether you love to swim, surf, and paddleboard or simply relax, you'll find a beach to suit. Behind the golden beaches, below the glittering towers there's a Gold Coast unknown to most visitors and even many locals. Currumbin Creek is where the Creek meets the ocean and there are many small beaches with calm water which is good for families.
The inlet is just behind the Palm Beach
Pirate Park. The Pirate Park is a kid’s playground with limited parking; bathroom
facilities and refurbished Dune Cafe close by. Currumbin Creek is a great place to swim and
also one side of the creek is an off-leash dog area. If you’re not in the mood
for waves, this area is perfect to swim around in the calm clear water or bring
down a Stand-Up Paddle Board or Kayak. Not all dogs love aquatic adventures to
the equal degree. Some dogs will stay away from water, whether that means
beach, pool, lake or river, but not our pup. Even better, if you and your dog
are looking for some waves, you can just walk over the sand hill to Palm Beach.
Also on the southern side, there is also Currumbin Beach itself.
From Currumbin Inlet we took a 20 minute journey to reach Currumbin Valley Rock Pools. The road leading out to Currumbin is unbelievably scenic so we urge you not to rush and soak in the nature that surrounds the area. The rock pools are known to be very popular on weekends so you can expect it to be very busy with many families and groups of friends hanging out here. The name speaks for itself, featuring a large natural swimming hole that is fed by a running stream known as Currumbin Creek.
The large pool is surrounded by boulders and rocks. Further
upstream from the main swimming hole, you can find a small waterfall and
cascading springs that are shaded beneath a canopy of trees. This is one of our
favorite areas to explore. Bonus is, the rock pool is Dog Friendly as long as
you dog is on a leash and people friendly. After an early swim at Currumbin
Inlet, it was still early morning and we had the area to ourselves for an hour,
before families started arriving. Our pup (Shari) loved the swim, and she’s
well trained and loves our adventures we take her on.
