Morning Dip Currumbin Creek Gold Coast

Morning Dip Currumbin Creek, Gold Coast, Queensland. Australia

Getting up early is not everyone’s cup of tea. But, if you want to get the most out of the warmer months at the beach, there are more than a few reasons to roll out of bed a little earlier. Nothing can beat seeing the sun peek up over the horizon on the water. We can’t think of a happier feeling than sipping on coffee with the sand between our toes while listening to the wave’s crash. It’s even better if we’re the only one on the beach as far as we can see and can enjoy this time alone. The earlier you wake up, the longer your day is. A longer day means more time to enjoy all the beach life has to offer. Pristine water, soft sandy beaches, dreamy vistas and sunny days come to mind when you think of Australia. When it comes to day trips from Brisbane, travelers are spoilt for choice.

Early we were on the M1 heading for a morning swim at Currumbin Creek, which is paradise for dogs big and small.  Currumbin Creek's calm inlet is a great spot to swim and frolic with your pup while those wanting a little more rough and tumble can head to the dog-friendly surf beach just steps away.  Currumbin is always clean and well kept, with some local spots to take your dog for stick collecting before wandering along the golden sand of Currumbin Creek up until the inlet. Pup-friendly Dune CafĂ© is only a short stroll away if you’re looking to re-fuel or caffeinate.

It was a great lazy Sunday morning at Currumbin because it’s all about taking a break and enjoying life. While you’re in Currumbin after a morning dip you can check out:

Iron & Resin Garage

Primarily a clothing store and coffee shop, Iron and Resin Garage was made for rockers and motorbike riders. The reclaimed industrial space features a famous Sunday session, #Onanysunday.
